The Trans Lease Collections Manager is a strategic and tactical leader responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of receivables management across commercial transportation finance portfolios. This role combines hands-on recovery efforts with executive-level oversight, ensuring optimized portfolio performance, regulatory compliance, and a datainformed approach to collections, legal actions, and agency partnerships. Team Leadership & DevelopmentStrategic Oversight & Portfolio ManagementLead and continuously refine the end-to-end collections process across early-stage, mid-stage, and post-charge-off accounts.Segment the collections portfolio by risk, account type, geography, and customer profile to inform recovery strategy.Analyze delinquency trends and develop action plans to minimize roll rates and maximize recoveries.Recommend and implement tailored loss mitigation options, including loan modifications, skip-pays, settlements, and D-Note programs.Partner with Credit, Accounting and Leadership to determine charge-off strategies and recovery targets.Supervise and mentor collections staff, including collectors and administrative personnel.Establish performance metrics and conduct regular evaluations.Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment. 2. Compliance & Regulatory GovernanceEnsure full compliance with FDCPA, FCRA, bankruptcy codes, and all applicable federal and state collections laws.Own internal audit and regulatory readiness by maintaining rigorous documentation, workflow controls, and reporting.Enforce policy governance and execute process improvements to align collections activity with organizational risk appetite and regulatory expectations. 3. Process Collection ManagementOversee the collections lifecycle from early-stage delinquency to legal proceedings.Implement and refine collections strategies to maximize recoveries.Ensure “last dollar” collections processes are established to mitigate deficiency loss at termination. 4. Performance Monitoring & ReportingHire, train, and develop a team of collectors fostering a culture of accountability and performance.Deliver consistent coaching, performance reviews, and compliance audits using scorecards and call calibrations.Build succession plans and cross-training programs to maintain business continuity and promote internal growth.Drive call quality, negotiation finesse, and customer experience through structured onboarding and training pathways.Analyze collections data to identify trends and areas for improvement.Report on collections performance to senior management.Oversee portfolio management and establish individual goals for each Collector (Loss Mitigation Specialist). 5. Vendor & Legal CoordinationManage relationships with external collections agencies and legal partners.Coordinate the placement of accounts with third-party vendors.Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations. 6. Customer Relations & NegotiationsHandle escalated customer accounts and negotiate payment arrangements.Ensure respectful and compliant communication with customers.Approve or escalate payment plans and settlements as appropriate. 7. Policy & Compliance OversightMaintain and update collections policies and procedures.Ensure team adherence to internal policies and external regulations.Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and identify risks. 8. Technology, Tools & ReportingManage and enhance system utilization in Lease Complete, Power BI, Salesforce, and dialer platforms to drive daily decision-making and long-term insight.Lead automation efforts including outbound campaign workflows, payment reminders, and predictive collections scoring.Build and maintain KPI dashboards capturing collector-level performance, call quality, recovery velocity, and promise-to-pay conversion rates.Partner with IT, Operations, and BI teams to ensure data integrity and reporting alignment across platforms. 9.
